Our specializations

Custom Homes

Teton Craftsmen is no stranger to the methods and materials of ultra high end homes in the Jackson market. However, the absurdity of throwing maximum cost per square foot at a custom home, is not something that leaves us feeling like we are serving our clients well. Instead, we take greater joy in helping clients thread the line through energy performance, practicality and ease of maintenance, and return on investment. There is often a very clear line between “money well spent” and “money poorly wasted” in custom homes. We consider it our duty to serve clients by fending them off from architectural and design ideas which trample the line between the two. Whether you have a design and plans in hand, or are just starting with a concept, let’s talk!

Updating Rental and Income Properties

The Teton Craftsmen team has been focused on the special demands of rental properties for 18 years. We know which type of tile, flooring, and fixtures are going to give an updated rental property maximum durability and longevity, and which are going to be maintenance headaches. We know how to best mitigate sound between adjoining properties, the ins-and outs of different HOA’s and we ultimately know that you want a fixed time window, so that you can get your rental property back up and generating revenue before the next tourist season. We take this commitment seriously.

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodels

This is our area of expertise! Kitchens and Baths are complicated spaces, with precise demands for ergonomics, functionality, clearance, and of course aesthetics! Unseen Electrical and Plumbing mechanical elements often compete with the previous demands, so it can be a complicated tango, especially when updating to new technologies. Let us help!

"The Architecture" of a Project

1

Discover Needs

What are you looking to accomplish? We want to fully understand and internalize this. We have lots of  documents, data, and links we are happy to provide up front, because an informed client, is our favorite client. We want to meet with you, see your home and concerns, and determine whether there is mutual trust and interest. We also want to determine  if budgetary and timing requirements are realistic. You will also find that Teton Craftsmen will readily play the role of “Devil’s Advocate” or help challenge client assumptions, because we often help clients discover less expensive or more practical solutions right up front.

2

Sign Commitments

Remodeling is all about relationships and trust. We will provide you with a Good Faith Estimate up front (without knowing 100% of your details yet) but based on a collective 100+ years of industry experience from our team, and looking back at similar projects from within the last year, (80 per year, on average) to determine a realistic budget for you. Once that is defined, we can offer a “Commitment to Complete” which outlines the basics of scope and cost, and most importantly, the mutually desired time frame.

3

Material Selections

In Phase Three, we focus on the details. And details of details. Once these are worked out internally or with the guidance of an outside Interior Design specialist, we can then determine the final working budget. In some cases, a Structural Engineer will also need to provide guidance and make determinations in this phase. Often some modifications are required to adapt the scope or material selections to make sure that the budget is kept realistic.

4

Final Contract

With all material selections complete, and with timing parameters agreed upon, the final contract is signed between the homeowner and contractor. The amount of time it takes to determine material selections varies on the number of rooms affected by the remodel, the complexity of the remodel, and the schedule of the homeowners and or designers involved. In most cases, it can take 4-6 months to move from phase 1 to starting phase 5.

5

Construction Phase

On the agreed upon date, our team of building specialists arrive and begin setting up floor protection, dust barrier walls, and a HEPA air filtration system, to keep your home as clean as possible through what can be a dusty process. Teton Craftsmen uses “BuilderTrend” software to permit homeowners to stay up to date on all aspects of their project. Teton Craftsmen, LLC enjoys maintaining a fun, safe, and enjoyable work environment for all of our team members and clients, and it shows. We love what we do. With work completed, we will make sure you have all the information you need to protect and maintain your beautiful new space, and we warranty or workmanship.

Our Values

Teton Craftsmen is dedicated to bringing professionalism, integrity, and enjoyment to the renovation or construction process.
